Polish recycling hardware startup Maas Loop announced that it has raised €1.2 million (over 5 million PLN) in funds led by Aper Ventures, with participation from AIP Seed, ASP Capital, and Aleksander Szalecki. The funding will help the startup to expand its operations and increase sales overseas.
- Rzeszów-based Maas Loop was founded in 2020 by Paweł Ciesielski, Szczepan Wantusiak, and Łukasz Święch. The startup develops a waste recycling solution that helps retailers, catering, and hotel sectors to recycle metal, glass, and plastic garbage. It consists of two different products.
- Glass Loop HoReCa: which crushes bottles, using 5 times less space in the garbage bin with 5 times lower bills every month. According to Maas Loop, this device can crush up to 260 metal cans, 60 glass bottles or 130 plastic bottles at once.
- Rev Loop Retail: the smallest reverse vending machine that boosts foot traffic and lower carbon emissions.
“Our system is designed with retailers in mind, streamlining recycling efforts directly at the point of sale. Our approach integrates seamlessly into your existing operations, offering a user-friendly experience for both staff and customers, driving sustainability, and boosting in-store traffic without disrupting your business flow,” the startup claimed.
- The current round was led by Aper Ventures, a Polish VC firm which focuses on investing in deeptech startups at the beginning stage of their commercialization. The fund’s ticket size usually ranges from €1-5 million.
- Other investors in the round include Warsaw-based AIP Seed, Wroclaw-based ASP Capital and business angel Aleksander Szalecki.
- With €1.2 million, Maap Loop will expand globally and boost sales. The startup aims to improve its product that helps in garbage collecting and management to prepare its entry to foreign markets.
