German firm Wakeline secures €2.1M to advance continuous learning AI

Düsseldorf-based deeptech firm Wakeline, which develops continuously learning AI systems that adapt during operation rather than relying on fixed training cycles, has secured €2.1 million in pre-seed funding from TechVision Fonds and neoteq ventures.

  • Founded in 2025 by Tim Gülke, Jan Böggering, Simon Sprünker, and Merten Tiedemann, Wakeline develops learning AI systems that adapt while they are in operation rather than only during training.
  • The firm builds AI architectures that learn from live data and real-world signals after deployment, updating their internal understanding and decision-making as conditions change instead of relying on fixed, one-time training cycles.
  • In practice, their systems are designed to sit inside operational environments, observe incoming data streams, retain memory of past outcomes, and continuously adjust their behaviour without requiring full retraining or redeployment.

Details of the deal

  • The funding will be used to further develop Wakeline's continuous-learning AI platform, accelerate go-to-market efforts, and expand the team as the company scales its technology across industries such as energy, manufacturing, and research.
