Belgian startup Trendtracker secures $7M funding to accelerate US and Middle East expansion

Ghent-based tech company Trendtracker, which focuses on AI-powered strategic intelligence, has raised $7 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Armilar with support from existing investor Capricorn Partners, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Established in 2019 by Vincent Defour and Mathias Colpaert, Trendtracker develops an AI-based intelligence system that continuously scans global information sources, identifies emerging trends, and analyzes their potential impact on organizations.
  • The platform uses a coordinated set of AI models to detect signals, evaluate their significance, forecast how they might evolve, and explain the reasoning behind those assessments, giving companies a structured view of external change and its strategic implications.

“Our vision is to redefine how strategy, risk, insights, innovation and foresight teams operate. AI that quantifies change in-depth, understands context, adapts continuously, and reasons causally. The AI doesn't just look at the past, but actively models strategic recommendations, predicting the future for businesses. Our technology functions as a strategic sparring partner, enhancing leadership judgment without supplanting it," claims Vincent Defour, CEO of Trendtracker.

Details of the deal

  • Trendtracker will use the new capital to advance its AI-driven strategic intelligence platform, expand its presence in the US and Middle East, strengthen partnerships with consulting firms and global data providers, and grow its team with senior experts in AI, engineering, foresight, and commercial development.

"Trendtracker is bringing much-needed clarity to a world where decision-makers are overwhelmed by noise. Their AI-powered approach to strategic intelligence is already resonating with global enterprises, and we’re excited to support Vincent and Mathias as the first investment of our new Fund IV, focused on exceptional European teams building products with global reach,” said Pedro Ribeiro Santos, Managing Partner at Armilar.
