Aachen-based VC firm TechVision Fund has raised €50 million for its TVF II fund, managed by TVF Management, which invests in promising tech startups at the pre-seed and seed stages across various sectors.
- TechVision Fund (TVF) was founded in 2007 by a team based in the Rhineland region of Germany. The firm has focused on supporting early-stage tech startups across a range of industries, including biotech, software, semiconductors, mechanical engineering, deep and medtech, and new materials.
- Over four fund generations, TVF has managed more than €100 million and backed over 40 startups. It also connects these startups with a wider network of over 150 established companies across different sectors through the S-UBG Group.
- The plan with the new fund is to invest in and support early-stage tech startups in the Rhineland and Euregio Meuse-Rhine regions, helping them grow from pre-seed and seed stages into successful companies ready for international expansion.
- Since 2023, TVF II has backed five startups focused on deep tech and sustainability, including:
- membion, wastewater treatment saving space and energy
- Vivalyx, synthetic blood-like solution and transport system for organ preservation
- Black Semiconductor, Graphene-based microchip connection technology for efficient data transmission
- IonKraft, Recyclable coating for plastic containers replacing harmful layers
- Planted,: SaaS platform for sustainability reporting and emission offsetting
- TechVision Fund II is supported by public institutions, such as NRW.BANK, Sparkasse Aachen, and Helaba, alongside private investors including Erich Borsch, Jürgen and Leo May, and Alexander Stoffers.
"We have the staying power to support companies until they’re ready for international investors. With our current setup, we are excellently positioned to help further DeepTech teams become successful companies. We act not only as financiers but also as entrepreneurial sparring partners and strategists — always at the startups’ side," claims Dr. Ansgar Schleicher, Managing Partner of TechVision Fund.
