Sodex Innovations lands €4M to build the AI intelligence layer for construction and mining

Austrian company Sodex Innovations, which develops automated surveying and data management systems for construction and mining operations, has secured a €4 million funding round led by Capmont Technology.

  • Founded in 2021 by Ralf Pfefferkorn, Raphael Ott, and Bernhard Gantner, Sodex combines machine-integrated hardware with cloud-based software to capture and analyze construction site data.
  • Its systems use laser scanners and cameras mounted on construction equipment to collect information on terrain, material movements, and project progress while machines are operating.
  • The captured data is processed through Sodex’s cloud platform, enabling digital documentation, volume calculations, inventory tracking, and progress monitoring. The platform also integrates information from sources such as drones and survey files, allowing teams to manage construction data through a single system.

Details of the deal

  • The round was supported by Bloomhaus Ventures AG, Look AI Ventures, and Superangels, alongside follow-on investments from existing investors SOSV, OMA Business Angels, and 12 Rounds Capital, including Katharina Klausberger and Armin Strbac.
  • With the fresh capital, Sodex plans to expand its product portfolio, grow its team, enhance customer solutions, and accelerate international expansion while continuing to develop its AI-powered construction intelligence platform.
