Six Robotics raises €12M to scale coordination software for unmanned systems

Norwegian defence tech startup Six Robotics, which develops an autonomy software platform for unmanned systems, has raised €12 million in a seed round.

The company builds coordination software that enables multiple unmanned systems to operate together while adapting in real time to complex environments autonomously. According to Six Robotics, its swarm autonomy technology is being developed in close cooperation with the Norwegian Armed Forces and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI).

Founded in 2023 by Christian Fredrik Eggesbø, Six Robotics has grown to 90 employees, initially backed by friends-and-family funding, the founder and CEO shared. With the seed investment, the company plans to strengthen its technical and operational capabilities across national and international markets.

Details of the deal

The round was led by German venture capital firm DTCP through DTCP Defence, a €500 million fund dedicated exclusively to defence, security, and resilience technologies.

Other investors included Denmark’s state-owned export and investment fund, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO), and Scale Capital, a Copenhagen-based venture capital firm investing in Europe’s critical technologies.

Ukraine's Swarmer operates in a similar space, developing AI software that enables unmanned vehicles to operate autonomously in coordinated swarms. Founded in 2023, the company went public on the Nasdaq in March, reaching a $500 million market capitalization within days of its debut.
