Berlin-based database startup SereneDB, which builds a real-time search and analytics database, has raised $2.1 million in a pre-seed funding round from venture funds Entourage and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), as Vestbee was told.
- Founded in 2025 by Alexander Malandin, Andrey Abramov, and Valery Mironov, SereneDB develops an open-source, distributed database that combines real-time search and analytical processing.
- The system allows users to ingest, update, and query data in milliseconds, handling complex searches and OLAP-style analytics within a single platform.
- It integrates with standard SQL tools under PostgreSQL, enabling live, accurate, and auditable results while reducing the need for multiple pipelines, caches, and dashboards.
“We have grown from a personal project in 2014 into the exceptional team we are today. Our shared purpose has always been to make true real-time analytics a reality," claims Andrey Abramov, co-founder at SereneDB.
- SereneDB will use the funding to accelerate development of its real-time search and analytics database, expand its open-source platform, and grow the team to support faster, more efficient data processing for modern analytical and AI applications.
