Polish biotech Science4Beauty lands €1.6M to scale conotoxin-based skincare platform

Warsaw-based deep-tech biotech startup Science4Beauty has raised €1.6 million in a funding round led by 4growth VC, with participation from Hard2beat and business angels, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Founded in 2020 by Magdalena Janczewska, Anna Mazurkiewicz-Pisarek, PhD, Alina Mazurkiewicz, and Agata Stefanek, Science4Beauty develops advanced skincare and dermatology products using its proprietary recombinant protein and bioactive peptide production technology. The company operates an in-house genetic engineering laboratory and holds patent filings across 10 jurisdictions.
  • Its flagship product line, Miorelaxant Magic™, is based on a proprietary conotoxin, a bioactive molecule inspired by sea snail venom. The technology is designed to relax facial muscles and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, offering a needle-free alternative to traditional aesthetic treatments.
  • According to the company, clinical trials demonstrated up to a 48% reduction in wrinkle depth, while regular use of the product can extend the results of botulinum toxin treatments by approximately 60 days. The company commercializes its products through two main channels: B2B sales to aesthetic medicine clinics and direct-to-consumer e-commerce.

Details of the deal

  • Science4Beauty plans to use the new funding to scale sales and production, accelerate R&D into new bioactive molecules and delivery systems, and expand into international markets. Its research pipeline includes potential applications for hyperhidrosis and rosacea, as well as delivery technologies such as microneedle patches.
