sci2sci raises €1.2M to build trustworthy AI infrastructure for regulated industries

Berlin-based AI startup sci2sci has raised €1.2 million in pre-seed funding co-led by Heliad and IBB Ventures, with participation from Robin Capital and Superangels.

  • Founded in 2023 by Angelina Lesnikova and Valerii Kremnev, sci2sci is developing a neurosymbolic AI layer that combines machine learning with explicit reasoning and verification.
  • The startup initially targets biopharma, where companies handle vast amounts of fragmented research and regulatory data and need to trace conclusions back to their sources.
  • Its flagship product, Integrity Cortex, turns information from documents, data, and AI outputs into a structured knowledge network. It verifies claims against their sources and checks whether conclusions can be derived from stated evidence.
  • VectorCat, sci2sci’s data integration product, connects data across cloud storage, network drives, and laboratory systems, making scattered enterprise information searchable without requiring migration.

Details of the deal

  • The company will use the funding to expand its engineering team, accelerate deployments, and grow its customer base, with plans to enter sectors such as banking.
  • Built on Parseltongue, sci2sci’s technology combines AI with formal verification to make AI outputs traceable and trustworthy in high-stakes environments.

“Europe needs deep-tech champions that go beyond surface-level AI wrappers. Angelina and Valerii are doing exactly that — combining genuine life sciences domain depth, cutting-edge AI research and enterprise-scale systems engineering to build the neurosymbolic intelligence layer that regulated industries have been waiting for," explains Tobias Schimmelpfennig, Investment Director at IBB Ventures.
