Danish AI startup Plinto bags €2.9M to bring real-time controlling to finance teams

Copenhagen-based Plinto has raised €2.9M (about DKK 21.6M) in a pre-seed round. People Ventures and Emblem backed the round, along with a group of business angels, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Founded in early 2025 by Jakob Nielsen, Nermina Suljevic and Sebastian Rehnby, Plinto develops AI agents that check invoices, orders and payments against contracts, budgets and internal policies in real time.
  • The platform integrates with companies’ existing systems, including ERP software, banking tools, document repositories and workplace communication platforms.
  • When discrepancies arise, the agents investigate, gather supporting evidence and follow up with the relevant parties to resolve them. This can include contacting suppliers about incorrect invoices, requesting credit notes or preparing corrections for approval.
  • Plinto has paying customers and pilot projects across logistics, real estate, facility services and food production. At one customer, its agents identify around 430 discrepancies per month in a single business area.
  • At another, the platform detected a duplicate invoice submitted under a slightly different supplier name within a minute of its arrival, before it could be paid twice.

Details of the deal

  • The fresh capital will enable the firm to speed up product development, bring on more enterprise customers and take its first steps outside Denmark.
