Vienna neuro-AI startup nyra health raises €20M Series A to scale digital neurotherapy platform

nyra health, which creates AI-driven neurorehabilitation software for speech, cognition, and motor therapy, has secured a €20 million Series A financing round led by Armira Growth, with support from Wellington Partners, Crane Venture Partners (overseeing MassMutual Ventures’ investments), and EVER Pharma, as Vestbee was told.

  • nyra health was founded in 2018 in Vienna by Mag. Moritz Schöllauf, Mario Zusag, and Dr. Philipp Schöllauf. The company develops AI-driven solutions for neurological rehabilitation, focusing on speech, language, cognition, and fine motor skills. Its core product, the MDR Class IIa-certified myReha platform, collects detailed data on patients’ performance, including reaction times, error patterns, and speech metrics, and automatically adapts therapy exercises to their progress and fatigue levels.
  • Clinicians use the companion system, nyra insights, to monitor outcomes, adjust programs, and generate documentation in real time. The platform is currently implemented in over 100 rehabilitation clinics, integrated into the German Pension Insurance’s digital aftercare programs, and reimbursed by 28 health insurers, covering roughly 40 million insured individuals.
  • Clinical studies, including randomized controlled trials, have shown that patients using myReha achieve significantly greater improvements in cognitive and language functions compared to standard therapy alone.

Details of the deal

  • The firm plans to use the new funding to expand its AI-based neurotherapy platform across the DACH region and enter the US market, while continuing to enhance its multimodal AI models and clinical features; the company also aims to connect more rehabilitation clinics, broaden reimbursement coverage with insurers, and scale adoption of its digital therapy solutions across inpatient care, outpatient follow-up, and home-based rehabilitation.

"nyra health is considered a true category creator with a proprietary AI-based solution that seamlessly connects the entire care chain, from inpatient therapy to outpatient aftercare to home use, for the first time. We were also particularly impressed by the strong clinical evidence and deep integration into the German standard of care, which already gives nyra health access to over 40 million insured individuals. On this basis, the company is ideally positioned to define the market for digital neurorehabilitation internationally as well," claims Christian Figge, Managing Partner, Armira Growth.
