Bilbao-based privacy-tech startup Nymiz, which develops AI-driven software to anonymize and redact sensitive data, has secured €2 million in a funding round to fast-track the enhancement of its anonymization platform and prepare for global expansion in 2026.
- Founded in 2020 by Óscar Villanueva and Manuel Díaz, Nymiz develops AI-driven software for data anonymization and redaction. The platform replaces sensitive information with synthetic data, tokenization, or asterisks, allowing organizations to protect privacy while maintaining data usability for analytics, machine learning, and sharing.
- Nymiz provides workflows that are either reversible, through pseudonymization, or irreversible, through anonymization, and supports substitution methods tailored to specific use cases.
- Its technology operates in 102 languages, identifying, anonymizing, and substituting personal information to help organizations comply with regulations such as GDPR, CPRA, and HIPAA.
- The platform is offered as a SaaS solution, via API integration, or on-premises deployment, giving clients flexibility depending on scale, data sensitivity, and regulatory requirements.
