Munich-based NutriUnited, which develops and supports family-run food companies, has raised €8.5 million in a seed round from several business angels, as Vestbee was informed.
- Established in 2024 by Josef Brunner, NutriUnited is a corporate group that acquires, develops, and connects family-run, artisan-focused food companies. The firm focuses on businesses in the meat, meat alternatives, and ready-made meals sectors, aiming to preserve craftsmanship, authenticity, and local value creation.
- NutriUnited operates through a buy-and-build strategy, integrating acquired companies into its group while providing operational and strategic support. Its approach is designed to strengthen the competitiveness of medium-sized food producers, facilitate succession solutions for family businesses, and ensure their long-term viability in the market.
“We want to create a home for family-run food companies. We stand for true entrepreneurship, dedication to craftsmanship, and honest products – and we see ourselves as the anti-corporation. Even as we grow, we want to remain small, agile and close to our customers. As the son of a baker, returning to my roots and dedicating myself to the most important mission of my life is deeply personal: ensuring the future of medium-sized artisan food producers with NutriUnited," claims Josef Brunner, founder and CEO of NutriUnited.
Details of the deal
- The seed round saw support from Martina Pfeifer, Tim Stracke, Oliver Merkel, Christof Wahl, Marc Müller, Frank Dopheide, Arnd Hungerberg, Finn Wentzler, Leon Mann, Dr. Hadi Saleh, and Timo Seggelmann.
“Behind every strong company stand extraordinary people. Josef and his team are experienced, visionary, highly capable and yet incredibly grounded. I’m delighted about this milestone," claims Finn Wentzler from Atlantis Ventures.
- NutriUnited will use the €8.5 million funding to expand its portfolio of artisan food companies, acquire and integrate new businesses, strengthen existing operations, and provide succession solutions for medium-sized family-run food producers, ensuring their long-term competitiveness while maintaining high-quality, authentic products.
