Munich-based startup Mobility Signage, which develops a software platform for public transport operators, has raised €1.8 million in a pre-seed funding round led by High-Tech Gründerfonds, with participation from 2bX.
- Founded in 2023 by Stefan Rademacher and Dominik Nouri, Mobility Signage builds an integration platform that connects fragmented legacy IT systems in public transport through a central data layer.
- It standardises operational data from systems such as scheduling, passenger information, and operations management, consolidating it into a single architecture that acts as a unified source of truth and redistributes information across station displays, onboard systems, and digital channels.
- The platform operates as an integration layer between different vendors and technologies, enabling functions such as real-time passenger information, disruption handling, timetable generation, device monitoring, and content distribution without requiring replacement of existing infrastructure. Operators instead connect their current systems, allowing data to be harmonised and distributed consistently across all outputs.
Details of the deal
- The fresh capital will be used to expand the team and further develop the company’s Data Hub and application layer, with a focus on scaling real-time information and disruption management capabilities across European transport networks.
“Public transport operators are under pressure from skills shortages, ageing IT systems, and growing ridership. Mobility Signage addresses these pain points with a modular, AI-native solution. The team has already proven real-world traction, with some of Germany's largest operators as customers. The central data architecture is the key to making public transport fit for the future," explains Tizian Hoppen, Senior Investment Manager at HTGF.
