London’s industrial firm Isembard raises $50M to accelerate aerospace, defence, and robotics manufacturing

London-based industrial tech startup Isembard, which builds modular manufacturing units and an AI-driven software platform, MasonOS, has raised $50 million in a Series A round led by Union Square Ventures to open 25 factories across the UK, USA, Germany, France, and Ukraine.

  • Founded in 2024 by Alexander Fitzgerald, Isembard builds modular manufacturing units and an AI-powered software platform, MasonOS, to accelerate the production of high-precision components for aerospace, defence, and other critical industries.
  • The system integrates with CAD files and BOMs to estimate costs, optimize workflows, and manage production across distributed factories equipped with advanced 5-axis CNC machines and automated equipment.
  • Continuously refined through software and automation, Isembard’s facilities hold ISO9001, Cyber Essentials, and JOSCAR certifications, delivering reliable, compliant, and scalable manufacturing for mission-critical applications.
  • Last year, the firm secured $9 million in funding led by Notion Capital with participation from 201 Ventures, Basis, Foreword Fund, and Material Ventures.

Details of the deal

  • The Series A round was led by Union Square Ventures and supported by Tamarack Global, IQ Capital, existing investors Notion Capital and CIV, plus angels Alex Bouaziz, Andrei Danescu, and Matt Briers.

“Isembard is redefining the process of owning and running a factory. At a moment when demand for advanced manufacturing is accelerating and interest in SMB ownership is rising, Isembard brings both forces together. We’re excited to partner with Alexander and his team as they expand access to factory ownership and rebuild industrial capacity across the West," explains Rebecca Kaden, Managing Partner at Union Square Ventures.

  • Isembard will use the fresh funding to open 25 factories across the globe. The investment will strengthen its engineering teams and scale operations for aerospace, defence, and robotics clients through its AI-powered MasonOS platform. The goal is to accelerate industrial capacity and innovation while advancing the company’s mission to drive national security and prosperity.
