Milan-based digital health startup Holifya has raised €2 million in a funding round led by Next Age, the Silver Economy program within CDP Venture Capital’s National Accelerator Network. The company has raised more than €2.5 million since its launch from institutional investors and business angels.
- Founded in 2023, Holifya operates a digital clinic focused on the pharmacological treatment of obesity. Its platform combines advanced diagnostics, artificial intelligence, and multidisciplinary clinical care to personalise treatment and support patients throughout their therapy.
- The company’s technology integrates up to 3,000 biomarkers per patient, including genetic, blood chemistry, and medical history data, with behavioural and clinical information collected during treatment. Its AI system helps physicians identify dropout risks and potential adverse effects, suggests dosage adjustments for physician review, and automates patient follow-up.
- Holifya says it has treated more than 3,000 patients. According to the company, patients using its programme have achieved an average weight loss of 17% after six months, compared with 7.1% for medication alone. The startup also reports adherence rates up to three times higher than the market standard, while eligibility screening can be completed within 48 hours.
- The funding comes as Italy faces growing demand for obesity treatment. More than 23 million adults in the country are overweight or obese, while around 11 million are estimated to be eligible for GLP-1 therapy. Despite this, fewer than 1% of eligible patients are currently receiving treatment.
- In 2025, the Italian Parliament recognised obesity as a chronic, progressive, and relapsing disease. Holifya aims to address the resulting need for continuous monitoring and personalised care alongside pharmacological treatment.
Details of the deal
- The round also saw participation from Growth Engine, which renewed its commitment from the previous round, alongside Doorway, 20Fund, Zooga VC, AC75, and a group of angel investors.
- The company will use the new funding to strengthen its technology and data teams, develop proprietary AI models, accelerate B2C growth, and establish strategic partnerships across Italy. It will also expand its internal clinical team and network to support its growing patient base.
- Holifya plans to grow its team to more than 60 employees by the end of 2026, with a particular focus on clinical, technology, data, and growth roles.
