Naarden-based beverage startup Founteyn has raised €19.3 million ($22.8 million) in an oversubscribed Series A round to advance the development of its all-in-one beverage dispensing system, including its chilling, carbonation and capsule-based technology.
- Founded in 2015 by Boyd Mulder, Founteyn is a beverage technology company that develops an all-in-one dispensing system for preparing drinks on demand in homes and workplaces.
- The system uses sealed capsules and integrates chilling, heating and carbonisation to produce hot, cold, still and sparkling beverages in under 15 seconds. By replacing single-use bottles and cans with concentrated capsules and on-site preparation,
- Founteyn aims to reduce packaging waste, transport volume and associated emissions while offering a wide range of beverages from a single machine.
Details of the deal
- The €19.3 million Series A was led by APG on behalf of ABP, with participation from Flying Fish and Leysern Aquacore, and was strategically underpinned by commercial partnerships with PepsiCo and Euro-Caps.
- The fresh funding will be used to develop and scale Founteyn’s all-in-one beverage system, specifically advancing its chilling, carbonisation and capsule-based dispensing technology, ramping up capsule manufacturing with Euro-Caps, and supporting its initial US market launch, while also strengthening commercial partnerships (including PepsiCo) and preparing the company for a Series B round in late 2026/early 2027.
“This funding validates that the beverage industry is ready for a stir up. Our patented system delivers freshly made drinks with no compromise on taste, while providing an alternative to ordering, stocking, and storing cans and bottles. As a sustainable option that cuts single-use packaging by up to 80%, we’re helping businesses simplify operations and serve people better," claims Boyd Mulder, Founder and CEO of Founteyn.
