Warsaw-based defence tech firm FlyFocus, which specializes in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and avionics, has raised €4.5 million in a funding round led by ffVC, with participation from the NCBR Investment Fund, the venture capital arm of Poland’s National Centre for Research and Development, as Vestbee was informed.
- Established in 2017 by Albert Świerczyński and Igor Skawiński, FlyFocus designs, develops, and manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and associated systems entirely in-house. The firm produces complete UAV platforms, high-end avionics, payloads, ground control equipment, and tethered power systems, focusing on both civilian and military applications.
- Its engineering capabilities cover mechanics, aerodynamics, software, electronics, composite structures, and flight operations. FlyFocus also provides custom engineering and product development services, including CAD design, prototyping, simulations, and life-cycle support.
- UAVs and systems are developed with modular architectures and NATO-aligned components, allowing rapid upgrades, operational testing, and field deployment. The company maintains direct contact with end users, including armed forces, to refine systems based on real operational feedback.
Details of the deal
- FlyFocus intends to use the €4.5 million funding to strengthen its operations and product development. The company will build a dedicated manufacturing facility in Poland to scale production, increase international sales efforts, and continue research and development, including the rollout of two new UAV platforms later this year.
- This investment will also support the company’s focus on in-house software and hardware development, ensuring full control over its technology and supply chains while responding quickly to operational needs.
“Strengthening Poland’s and Europe’s defence technology base is a strategic priority. FlyFocus demonstrates that advanced defence systems can be developed and manufactured domestically, with full control over critical technologies. This investment supports the growth of high-value industrial capabilities in Poland while contributing to Europe’s long-term security," explains Paweł Materniak, Investment Director at NCBR Investment Fund.
