Swiss startup Ecorobotix secures $150M to transform AI-powered plant-by-plant™ care

Yverdon-les-Bains-based startup Ecorobotix, which develops AI-based agricultural machinery for precise plant-level treatment, has raised $105 million in Series D, bringing its total funding to $150 million, and will showcase its latest developments at Agritechnica this November in Hanover.

  • Ecorobotix was established in 2014 by Steve Tanner and Aurélien Demaurex. The company develops, manufactures, and sells agricultural machinery that uses artificial intelligence to provide ultra-high precision crop care.
  • Its flagship product, the ARA sprayer, employs Plant-by-Plant™ technology, which scans and identifies individual plants to apply treatment only where needed.
  • The system uses AI algorithms to distinguish between crops and weeds, allowing precise targeting while reducing the use of crop protection products.
  • The technology has been deployed in more than 20 countries, with over 25 crop-specific algorithms available for different plant types. Ecorobotix is also a certified Swiss B Corporation®, reflecting its commitment to reducing the ecological impact of modern agriculture.

ECBF (European Circular Bioeconomy Fund) and McWin Capital Partners joined as new investors.
  • The firm plans to accelerate its AI-powered Plant-by-Plant™ technology, expand into new crop types, develop advanced crop algorithms, and scale its solutions globally to improve precision and efficiency in crop protection.

"These latest investment rounds have allowed us to accelerate our innovation, expand into new crop types, broaden our product range, and bring our advanced crop algorithms to market faster. Thanks to the trust of our investors, we are scaling a proven solution to help deliver better-quality food for the world," claims Dominique Mégret, CEO of Ecorobotix.
