UK-based cybersecurity startup Cytix has raised $7 million in a Series A round led by Northern Gritstone, with participation from existing investors Auriga Cyber Ventures and NPIF II – PXN Equity Finance, managed by PXN Ventures as part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II.
- Founded in 2023 by Ben Armstrong and Thomas, Cytix develops a software change risk management platform for organisations dealing with increasingly rapid development cycles.
- Its platform sits between the software development lifecycle and security, risk, and compliance teams, analysing changes such as tickets, pull requests, code updates, and releases to assess their potential security and business risks.
- It uses this context to help security teams prioritise high-risk changes, automatically approve lower-risk ones, validate potential risks through continuous testing, and maintain an audit-ready record of decisions and actions.
Details of the deal
- The funding will accelerate the rollout of Cytix’s change risk management platform and support its expansion into enterprise and regulated markets. The company aims to help organisations assess and manage security risks arising from the growing volume and speed of AI-driven development, while improving visibility into software changes and compliance requirements.
