Copenhagen-based Complir raises €1.7M to help retailers navigate global compliance with AI

Copenhagen-based firm Complir, which provides AI-powered infrastructure that helps retailers automate and manage global product compliance, has raised €1.7 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Vendep Capital, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Established in 2025 by Gustav Bang, Complir develops AI-enabled infrastructure to help retailers manage global product compliance. The platform integrates product data from disparate systems and automates core compliance workflows, including labelling, testing requirements, risk scoring, documentation, and regulatory monitoring.
  • By providing a unified view of product information, Complir enables companies to identify risks early, track evolving regulations across multiple markets, and ensure products meet international standards. Its AI agents analyze materials, supplier data, and regulatory updates, allowing retailers to maintain compliance efficiently without relying on manual checks, spreadsheets, or fragmented documents.

“Our mission is to make it easy for European retailers to launch products anywhere in the world - safely, confidently, and without drowning in paperwork," claims Gustav Bang, Founder and CEO of Complir.

  • The funding round was led by Helsinki-based Vendep Capital, with participation from Likeminded, Plug and Play, Xpress, and business angels including Kraen Østergaard Nielsen, JHJ Seed Capital, Per Thau, and Neil S. W. Murray.

"What impressed us most is how quickly this team has built something truly valuable inside real customer workflows. They’ve earned their way deep into organizations by understanding not just the technical challenge, but the data, the processes,
and the decisions that underpin product compliance. In a world where the burden of compliance continues to grow, having this level of clarity and trust becomes essential for retailers who want to keep their momentum continues. We’re excited to partner with the team as they define the future of retail compliance," explains Artis Bisers from Vendep Capital.

  • With the fresh capital, the firm plans to accelerate development of its AI-enabled compliance platform, expand coverage across additional product categories, deepen integrations with ERP, PIM, and PLM systems, and support its expansion into new EU markets, all aimed at helping European retailers launch safe, transparent, and compliant products globally.
