Belgian energy optimisation company CIOC Energy has secured €3 million from renewable energy developer CleverNett, which has acquired a minority stake in the company. CIOC Energy will remain independent.
- Founded in 2023 by Alexander De Bièvre, CIOC Energy provides a platform for monitoring, controlling, and trading energy generated by solar panels and batteries.
- The company aims to address the fragmented management of energy assets, where installation, battery control, and energy trading are often handled by separate providers.
- CIOC Energy combines these functions under a single platform and has developed its own control module for electricity cabinets, alongside algorithms for managing solar panels, batteries, and charging points.
- Its system can direct solar power into batteries, reduce peak demand, and trade stored energy on the electricity market when conditions are favourable.
- The company currently manages more than 100 industrial sites and 2,000 home batteries, with operations supported by a team of 24 employees in Belgium and China.
Details of the deal
- The fresh capital will support the expansion of CIOC Energy’s commercial and technical teams and its growth across Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Romania. The company also plans to establish direct access to energy markets in these countries.
