BOOKR Kids secures €6.1M to scale AI-powered literacy platform

Budapest-based EdTech startup BOOKR Kids has raised €6.1 million in a Series A transaction led by TCEE Fund IV, advised by 3TS Capital Partners, with participation from Leib Lurie of Kids Read Now, as Vestbee was informed.

  • BOOKR Kids develops research-backed digital reading and language-learning solutions for schools and families. Its BOOKR Class platform combines interactive, curriculum-based digital books with learning activities, assessments, and teacher analytics.
  • The company serves more than 600,000 paying students across 3,000+ schools in over 30 countries, with key markets across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
  • BOOKR’s platform uses AI to support educators with learning diagnostics, curriculum mapping, data analysis, content recommendations, and teaching materials, while keeping human-created content and teachers at the center of the learning experience.
  • The company says research in Hungary found a 20% improvement in reading comprehension among students using its interactive learning format compared with a control group. A 2026 pilot in Jordan also showed stronger learning gains among students using BOOKR.

Details of the deal

  • The fresh round also saw participation from SchoolDay CEO Robert Iskander, Infinit Capital Oy, and Hungarian angel investor Albert Sárospataki through the FusionWise angel syndicate.
  • The funding will support BOOKR’s international expansion and product development, including the launch of BOOKR Next for learners aged 10–18 and BOOKR Phonics for early literacy, the rollout of its AI-powered Teacher Dashboard, and the development of an AI-driven language placement and proficiency assessment system backed by a €662,000 non-repayable EU grant.
