London-based startup AppFactor secures $4M for its agentic orchestration platform for corporates

AppFactor, which automates enterprise software maintenance and modernization, has raised $4 million in a seed round led by Tensor Ventures. The fresh funding will allow the startup to expand its platform and support more enterprises in managing complex software systems, as Vestbee was told.

  • Launched in 2023 by Keith Neilson, Gabriel Ciuloaica, and Attila Vajda, AppFactor develops an agentic orchestration platform to automate the modernization and ongoing maintenance of enterprise applications.
  • The platform uses specialized AI agents to discover, regenerate, and redeploy software, performing tasks such as bug fixes, code migrations, refactoring, and cloud-native deployments without disrupting end users.
  • It operates across the full technology stack, tracking technical debt, optimizing infrastructure and code, and running multi-agent workflows with built-in verification and human-in-the-loop oversight. The platform's set of tools allows engineering teams to focus on innovation while routine maintenance and modernization are fully automated.

Details of the deal

"We know from experience that at the world's largest companies, maintaining hundreds or thousands of applications can employ armies of programmers who do nothing else all year but manage outdated code. This is the nightmare of every technical and financial director of companies around the world, which is why we see enormous potential in this area," claims Ondřej Lipold, Partners at Tensor Ventures.

  • The funding will go toward platform development and scaling operations, enabling AppFactor to provide debugging and secure cloud deployment services to a wider range of customers.
