New VC Funds

  • Dutch VC Newion closes its 4th, €130M fund to back European startups. The firm will mainly focus on early-stage B2B software businesses.
  • UK-based VC 83North unveils its new $400M fund. The firm will back startups across Europe, Israel, and the US.
  • French VC Sista announces its first €30M closing of a €100M fund. The firm will focus on fintech, healthtech, SaaS, and consumer globally but with a special focus towards French ecosystem.
  • Czech VC DEPO Ventures announces its third, €20M CEE angel fund.The firm will invest in early-stage startups across advanced technologies like AI and blockchain applications, fintech, and/or marketplaces.

CEE Startup Funding Rounds & Acquisitions

  • Ukrainian-found supply chain cybersecurity startup Eclypsium raises a $25M series B to scale the team and its sales efforts. The round was led by Ten Eleven Ventures and followed by KDDI Open Innovation Fund, together with J Ventures.
  • Romanian gaming studio Amber picks up a €20M round to aid its strategic M&A plans. The investor's name remains undisclosed.
  • Polish RKKVC fund invests in a British water leak detection startup FIDO Tech. The startup has raised a combined €7.2M in funding.
  • Serbian-found telehealth startup Index Health gets a $6M seed round to grow its product and medical specialists' team. The round was co-led by LAUNCHub Ventures and Inovo Venture Partners.
  • Czech community platform Talkbase raises a $2M pre-seed round. The investment was co-funded by
    J&T Ventures, Credo Ventures, as well as mxv Capital, and Plug & Play Tech Center.
  • Genome analysis platform Intelliseq picks up a 7.5M PLN round to fund its business expansion. The funding was mainly obtained from the Unfold.vc.
  • Marketing agency RTB House acquires a content management platform Senuto.
  • A videogame developer Plot Twist raises 2.8M PLN in public funding. The company plans to use the investment to further market and work on its flagship game - The Last Case of Benedict Fox.
  • Cargo bike company Urvis.Bike closes a 2M PLN in angel funding to develop new models and upscale its sales efforts. The round was raised from investors like Andrzej Sykulski, Adam Smorawiński, Michał Kwiatkowski, and a number of other business angels.
  • An MRI analysis platform for lower limb Smarter Diagnostics picks up 2.2M PLN round to start commercializing the product. The round was co-led by Aligo VC and Sunfish Partners.
  • Game modding middleware startup ReadyCode raises 1.5M PLN to grow the team. The round was raised from SpeedUp Venture Group and an in-game ads platform Overwolf.
  • Urological health startup CareTech Human wins in the Infoshare Startup Contest, receiving a €20k prize.
  • Ukrainian order management platform GetOrders closes its first angel round to develop the product and prepare for the next investment round. The investment came from the local head of UiPath Sasha Reminniy.

Startup Calls

  • Żabka and Kozminski business hub start gathering applications for the second edition of the Startup Impact Program. The acceleration is open for post-MVP impact startups and those accepted into the program will get mentoring, training, and the ability to implement a pilot across Zabka group. The registrations are open till the 6th of November.
  • Google launches a cost-free Startup Academy for Ukrainian aspiring and operating founders. The course will concern all of the general aspects of venture building like getting investment, business modeling, GTM strategy and more.
  • B2RLaw hosts a webinar on the basics and applications of the Employee Stock Options Plan (ESOP). The event will occur on the 18th of October.
  • The Polish City Technology Exchange opens up a platform where private companies can place their smart-city solutions and attain customers from the public institutions and get up to 50k PLN for a pilot. The applications start on the 17th of October.
