Sunrise Robotics, an intelligent industrial robotics startup, has raised $8.5 million in a funding round led by Plural, with additional participation from Tapestry, Seedcamp, Tiny.vc, and Prototype Capital.

- The company designs robotic systems equipped with dual arms, advanced sensors, and perception technology. These robot cells are not programmed traditionally; instead, Sunrise creates detailed virtual simulations of specific factory workstations and trains the robots’ AI within these environments.
- By training the robots in simulation, the company significantly reduces deployment time and costs, enabling the robotic cells to be operational within hours rather than months.
- Once deployed, these systems continue to improve through over-the-air software updates and share learnings across a connected fleet of robots.

- The funding round was led by Plural, which recently closed on its €400 million second fund, joined by Tapestry, Seedcamp, Tiny.vc, and Prototype Capital.
