Warsaw-based robotics startup SI Robotics, which builds scalable humanoid robots designed to replace low-skilled labor in industrial and defense environments, has raised pre-seed funding led by Sunfish Partners.
- Founded in 2024 by Patryk Szymczak and Kajetan Andrzejewski, SI Robotics develops a fully European humanoid robotics platform focused on scalable manufacturing of robots capable of performing tasks in industrial and defense environments.
- The company designs and builds core components such as high-torque bionic actuators and integrates reinforcement learning systems to enable human-like movement and reflexes.
- SI Robotics emphasizes dual-use applications to support both commercial and defense sectors while aiming to establish technological sovereignty for Europe.
- The startup collaborates with universities, research institutes, and industry partners to develop and test its hardware and software systems, preparing integration points for advanced AI and industrial automation.
Details of the deal
- The investment was led by Sunfish Partners, an early-stage VC based in Berlin and Warsaw, which recently launched its Sunfish CEE II fund to support tech startups in the CEE region at the pre-seed and seed stages.
"Humanoid robots will transform many industries, from defence to logistics, from manufacturing to elderly care. They will work alongside humans in many areas, doing tasks that are too exhausting, too dangerous, or simply too tedious for humans to perform," Sunfish Partners' team, commented on LinkedIn.
- The fresh capital will be used to advance bionic actuator development, expand the engineering team, and set up early manufacturing in Poland, with a focus on building prototypes for industrial and defense applications.
