Norwegian construction tech startup Leasi secures €1.1M in a pre-seed funding

Norwegian construction tech startup Leasi has secured a strategic investment totaling €1.1 million. The investment will help Leasi further develop machine management solutions.

  • Founded in 2022 by Marcus Balcon, Ronny Liverød, Scott A. Bekke, and Daniel Hansen, Leasi offers a comprehensive solution for managing machine fleets and optimizing their composition and usage across various projects and clients. The software focuses on enhancing the user journey, simplifying the workdays of construction contractors and rental companies.

The investment was backed by Skanska, a Stockholm-based development and construction company thatoperates in select markets across the Nordics, Europe, and the US. By investing in Leasi, the firm aims to use the startup’s solutions to optimize a machine park of over 8,000 units and improve its profitability and sustainability.

“With shared access to all valuable information about our machine park, we are able to operate more efficiently in projects and across businesses. The system from Leasi will strengthen our competitiveness and ability to execute, and provide a very good basis for investments in the future machine park,” Executive vice president for Construction in Skanska Norway, Anders Geirsta, stated.

  • The fresh capital saw participation from Oslo-based VC StartupLab, in addition to Gnist Capital and Weseed. This is alongside a grant from Innovation Norway.

“We look forward to in the coming years and hope the entire industry will see the commercial and environmental benefits that Leasi offers. In the construction industry, StartupLab contributes to digitization, which in turn reduces emissions. Leasi fits very well into this framework,” Investment manager at StartupLab Ventures, Gisle Østereng, commented.

  • The fresh funding will enable Leasi to expand both domestically and internationally, leveraging Norway's advanced digitalization in construction and international interest in its comprehensive machine management solution.
