French HR tech platform Kalent raises €1M to expand globally

Nantes-based HR tech platform Kalent, which develops a hiring AI agent, has raised €1 million in a seed funding round to expand globally and launch in the US. Kima Ventures and several business angels funded the round.

  • Established in 2024 by Cédric Tournay, Edouard Vaudour, and Vincent Maillard de la Morandais, Kalent is an AI-powered recruitment platform designed to streamline the hiring process.
  • The platform integrates with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and scans a database of over 200 million profiles to identify suitable candidates.
  • Kalent enables recruiters to generate qualified interviews in under 24 hours by reaching candidates via LinkedIn, email, and WhatsApp and scheduling interviews directly in their calendars.

Details of the deal

  • The round was backed by Kima Ventures, a Paris-based venture capital firm that invests €150,000 in 100 startups per year across all sectors and stages. Several business angels also participated.
  • Kalent will use the €1 million seed round to expand internationally, particularly in the US market, and to launch a self-serve version of its platform, enabling broader adoption and faster scaling.
