London-based Connectd, an AI-powered platform matching startups with experienced fractional executives, has raised $7 million in funding led by Anker Capital, following 80% year-on-year growth and crossing $11 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR).
- Launched in 2019 by Roei Samuel, Connectd is a digital platform that leverages AI to connect startups and scaleups with fractional executives, board advisors, and non-executive directors.
- The platform facilitates flexible engagements, linking early-stage companies with senior professionals who offer strategic and operational support without the expense or commitment of full-time hires.
- Connectd also provides startups with tools to track progress and share metrics with investors, enabling data-driven targeting of investment opportunities. The company runs the Innovation Academy, a program aimed at helping professionals develop fractional careers and advisory expertise.
“Imagine Warren Buffett coming into your office one day a week to tell you where you’re going wrong. Or Jony Ive giving you an hour’s feedback on your latest product rollout. With fractional engagements, companies can access some of the best minds on the planet without the associated costs," explains Roei Samuel, founder and CEO of Connectd.
- Since its founding, Connectd has facilitated over 25,000 connections between startups, scaleups, and fractional experts. Its community comprises more than 3,000 fractional executives and an equal number of startups. While primarily focused on clients in the UK and US, Connectd’s reach extends to over 60 countries worldwide.
Details of the deal
- Connectd has secured fresh investment led by Anker Capital and Stena & Swerve, with continued support from existing investors Steven Mail of Mail Venture Partners and Alan Morgan of MMC Ventures.
“Roei and the team have moved way beyond smart investor matching to offer on-demand fractional talent—plug-in specialists who give founders instant execution power and advice. Leading this round reaffirms our confidence in Connectd, and helps fuel a fairer, faster way to build early-stage companies," claims Jonas Anker from Anker Capital.
- The startup will use the $7 million to expand its fractional talent network in the US and UK, improve its AI matching technology, and develop its Innovation Academy.
