German-founded Sky Spy, a dual-use SIGINT technology firm, has raised $1.6 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed round to scale production, grow its team, and deploy autonomous AI-driven systems.
- Established in 2025 by Ukrainian Arsenii Hurtavtsov, Sky Spy develops compact signal intelligence (SIGINT) systems for contested and congested electromagnetic environments.
- The company’s main product, Agent 001, is a lightweight, drone-mounted device that detects, classifies, and geolocates radio emitters, including drone control stations and jammers.
- The system operates autonomously, processing signals onboard without reliance on external computing, and combines radio-frequency detection with visual confirmation.
- Using proprietary hardware and filtering algorithms trained on combat data, Agent 001 provides real-time localization of emitters even under jamming or GPS-denied conditions, and can integrate with existing command and control infrastructures.
“Sky Spy was built by people who’ve seen how unreliable intelligence costs lives. Our mission is simple: to give forces real-time awareness in the spectrum – because the side that dominates the spectrum dominates the war," claims Arsenii Hurtavtsov, CEO of Sky Spy.
Details of the deal
- The pre-seed round was co-led by Expeditions Fund and Superangel, with support from Freedom Fund, Sunfish Partners, Crosscourt Ventures, and Material Ventures.
“From the first meeting, SkySpy impressed us with their deep technical talent and real operational insight. We believe they have the rare ability to move fast, solve hard problems, and deliver capabilities that work where it matters," explains Jaan Kokk, Senior Associate at Superangel.
- Sky Spy will use the $1.6 million in funding to bring its SIGINT system, Agent 001, to market by scaling production, integrating with leading UAS platforms, and expanding its multinational team to enhance technical and operational capabilities for real-time intelligence in contested environments.
